Sam Redford Coach
Sam Redford

Sam has been a STA coach for more than three years and enjoys guiding both beginners embarking on their open water adventures and seasoned swimmers looking to enhance their skills.

He takes great pleasure in assisting swimmers as they get ready for competitions and has participated in open water events for over a decade, including the River Dart 10k, Bantham Swoosh, Great North Swim 5km, Dock2Dock 5k, Beat the Tide 4km, as well as Olympic and sprint triathlons.

Tamsin Gale Coach
Tamsin Gale

Tamsin is a certified STA Level 2 Award holder in Teaching Swimming and has been an accredited open water swimming coach with STA for five years. Throughout her coaching career, she has assisted countless swimmers in enhancing their technique and building their confidence in open water environments.

Since 2020, she has been leading coaching sessions at Love Open Water, located at Canary Wharf and London Royal Docks, while also providing guidance and coaching for SwimQuest Holidays.

Tamsin started on her first open water race a decade ago and has since participated in swim marathons, including the Thames Marathon, Vidösternsimmet 21k+, and a channel relay. 

Kate Irving Coach
Kate Irving

Katie is an STA certified coach. She loves working with swimmers, understanding their goals and supporting them reach them - whether this be improving technique, building confidence in the open water, or developing training plans for their next challenge. 

When she’s not coaching, she’s in the water herself. She brings extensive competition experience, winning the masters nationals last year in the open water 3K, and competes and medals with Team GB in both ice swimming and Aquathlon. This year she’s got a number of international competitions lined up and a marathon swim in the pipeline. If you have a goal, she’ll get behind it!
